Forgetting the Character

During these little sessions I have been having with Fitzhugh Carvolo I felt like I have neglected the CHARACTER of Fitzhugh. Currently it feels like he has just been numbers rather than the character I rolled up here

Who is Fitzhugh?
From the character information that I rolled up we know that Fitzhugh is a handsome man with freckles. Though, he wears battle-torn clothes. Is this to hide among people in the city? Or maybe he just couldn't afford nicer clothes. His speech is very monotone which can make it difficult to determine his mood such as whether or not he is joking or being serious. His mind and his way of thinking tends to be that of a schemer. This could probably be because of his background of being a housebreaker.

There are questions we could ask about this character. Was he a housebreaker before he was in the Withered Shrimp clan or was he trained to become a housebreak after joining the clan? Has he always been poor or was he only poor in the state that we first were introduced to him? Was he always a schemer? Did something happen to him in the past that caused him to be more alert and always analyzing his situations and surroundings?

Focusing on this character really needs to be more of a goal of mine while I do these sessions. Before I have my next session I will write this character sheet down on an index card that I can always have in front of me so I can always see it before I make decisions on what Fitzhugh would or would not do.

Additions to the Characters
Before I get into my next session I thought I would make a roll for the Slime Sentinel's personality. Cause it to has only been numbers rather than a living and breathing character. When I rolled on the personality table I ended up with: Savage
I really like this for the creature. It was made by just a freak accident and so it being Savage fits it well. Fortunately for Fitzhugh we already established that this creature is his guardian.

Next I wanted to make a roll on the Hobbies table for Fitzhugh. What is something we would find him doing while not getting into trouble? After rolling on the table the result was: Clockwork
So Fitzhugh likes to work on clocks, huh? This gives us a little more that we can use when actually roleplaying the character of Fitzhugh.

Next time we should have a session dealing with the aftermath of the Intoxicating Dance and a chance for Fitzhugh to level up from level one to level two.

Comments

  1. For some more random character flavor this table was kind of cool, weather they would give a bonus to certain rolls is optional.
